1. Unfocused Desire

The #1 reason people do not become their best self/do not live their greatest life is a Lack of Desire or more finely put, Unfocused Desire. They want but they want with no method, with a vague generalness that allows for no concrete action to be taken or plans to be made.

2. Lack of Self-Awareness

They do not take the time to get to know themselves, to truly understand their inner selves. Time spent journaling, in self-reflection is invaluable. When you set goals, when you look forward to things, take the time to ask yourself why you chose the alternatives you did and how you expect to feel when you achieve those goals or have those experiences. Often you find that what you thought you wanted did not contain what you sought.

3. Lifestyle/Life Companions Not Supportive of Greatness

To truly achieve our best selves, our lives and those we spend time with must be aligned with and contribute to our growth and we toward theirs.
