There is a website I like called Post Secrets, that every Sunday posts a fresh batch of annotated, highly-creative and visual postcards sent to them by ordinary people who have chosen to mail in an intimate “secret.” One truth I see over and over is that humanity has a lot in common; we share many of the same fears, dreams, hopes, and pains.
You can read many things into each postcard. A lot of what you see depends on your world view—the kinds of stories you tell yourself to explain the world you see and live in.
To me, this postcard says, “Life is what you make of it. You find power and strength where and when you want. Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turned out.” This person found it in himself or herself to take a negative experience and find a positive lesson.
From that turning of straw into gold, we all can take a positive lesson about how stumbling blocks can be crafted into stepping stones.
