I saw this “Every Time You Scream at a Driver, She Learns a Lesson” poster on a street in Manhattan and I was really moved by it.
Every moment of our lives we are role models, whether we realize it or not. Anger is a normal reaction to frustration, conflict, or fear. Learning to control our thoughts, frames, and focus to reduce our frustration and fears, thus our anger, is an important life skill. The higher our emotional intelligence, the better we manage our emotions. Great is she who masters her emotions rather than letting emotions be her master.
When we are role models of self control, self mastery, and self direction we inspire others to do the same.
Remember: Our daily actions teach our true values! What did you teach today?
PS: The poster is by ACTagainstviolence.
