Who are we?
What are we capable of?
How much of what limits us is external? How much of our limits come from within?
Questions have power because they can send our minds in interesting directions questing for an answer.
Hard times, economic or otherwise, upset a lot of apple carts. Established ways of behaving often no longer serve us. Patterns and beliefs that have worked for us in the past no longer seem to yield the same results. New approaches, new behaviors, are called for. Often the ego rebels, saying “That is not me,” or “no way will that work.”
The question, “who would I be without that belief or behavior or thought,” frees us up to see the world in new, often more empowering ways.
Imagination can be key. Imagining ourselves differently is the first step to choosing differently, behaving differently.
Closing Quote:
“If you limit your choices only to what seems possible or reasonable, you disconnect yourself from what you truly want, and all that is left is compromise.” — Robert Fritz
