There is a reason your car has a BIG windshield and a small rearview mirror: You are going forward, not backward! Where you are headed is much, much more important than were you’ve been. The “Big Windshield, Small Rearview Mirror” metaphor is an excellent one to bring to mind anytime you start excessively focusing on your past. The future is the ONLY thing you can change; the future belongs to those (you?) with the courage to create it.
Closing Quotes:
“There is a fine balance between honoring the past and losing yourself in it. Acknowledge and learn from mistakes you made, and then move on and refocus on the now. It is called forgiving yourself.” – Eckhart Tolle
“You can clutch the past so tightly to your chest that it leaves your arms too full to embrace the present.” – Jan Glidewell
“The past should be a place of reference not residence!”– Unknown
As always, I share what I most want and need to learn. – Nathan S. Collier
