There is a thief that lies waiting in all too many folks’ minds; a thief that will steal their peace of mind and rob them of their best, brightest future. That thief comes in many guises but the common factor is fear. Many folk will reflexively disown fear as a factor in their lives, imagining fear only as the extreme physical, shiver and shake, trembling “haunted house” version.
Yet fear comes in lessor forms including worry, doubt, apprehension, anxiety, and timidity; even inordinate levels of caution. Another form of fear is “loss aversion”; we are emotional pack rats! People are remarkably unwilling to experience almost any form of loss even though “you must release the rung below to grasp the rung above.”
Perhaps the most subtle form of fear is an excessive love of our comfort zone and a reluctance to open new doors. However, the GREATEST impact fear has is when it dons the camouflage of negativity; negative thoughts will rob you and those around you of energy and enthusiasm before you even realize it has happened.
