Ten Thousand Smiles, Ten Thousand Acts of Kindness. What if you made a New Year’s resolution to do some combination of doing 10,000 acts of small kindness, giving away/sharing 10,000 smiles? That’s not so hard! And mostly free! Now the smiles have to be deep and genuine i.e. they must linger on your face for a while, perfunctory ones that vanish in an instant don’t count! Besides, smiles that stick around for a while are terrific for the inner you, awesome for your moods!
You will find many an opportunity for small acts of kindness; letting someone in front of you in traffic counts as do sincere compliments, the more specific the better. 10,000 in a year works out to about 30 a day or two a waking hour, a very doable, wonderful goal. The most fantastic thing about this stuff is that the more you give away, the richer your life will be.
