Sometimes, when motivation is on the low side, I pretend I’m hearing from someone else the excuses I’m hearing in my head: “But I don’t WANT to!” or ‘Don’t FEEL like it.” When spoken aloud or dragged out into the full light of day, they don’t come across sounding that good, do they?

My best reply to my inner voices of doubt is “That Wasn’t the Question!”

i.e. the question wasn’t do you ‘want’ to or do you ‘feel’ like it, the question was:

Are you going to be your best self today? Or are you going to sacrifice your gift and drift? Are you going to step up? Or not?

Now I’d be the 1st to tell you that I plan for plateaus in most of my paths forward and build in rest/recovery periods in most of my targets. I will do ‘x’ 6 days out of every week or if I miss a day, I can make up for it by doubling down the next day. I’m not a machine and I don’t want to be and the only person I want to be better than is who I was yesterday. My constant and never-ending goal is to be my best self, more often.
