Where in your life are you wasting effort and energy? With who or where is your life force not being valued? Sometimes you have to release some folks in your life in order to make room for those more aligned with the direction you are growing. Those who honor and support your hopes and dreams. I’m as persistent and stubborn as they come, I do not like giving up. I will carry on as long as there is any flicker of reasonable hope. But I will NOT beat my head against a wall. I have too great a sense of self respect, of self-love, to throw away my precious life force, my one and only time on this earth, where it is not appreciated, returned or valued. I will always operate at the highest possible leverage point. To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice your gift. Putting your energy into dead ends or low return situations is sacrificing your gift.
Closing Quotes:
“The wise farmer does not cast his seed on rocky ground.” – Proverb (see Matthew 13:1-23; Mark 4:1-20; Luke 8:1-15)
“A dead-end street is a good place to turn around.” – Naomi Judd
“If you are stuck or you know your friends are bringing you down, the time to act is now. You don’t know how much time you’ve got left.” – Ricky Reed

Do you think a Leader is born or self-made? Which one do you considered yourself to be? While some are definitely born with certain traits commonly identified with leadership, you can certainly “move the needle” by effort. I’m by nature a loner and an introvert but I’ve studied leadership most of my life because it was a skill set that I needed to acquire to achieve my goals. Leaders come in many sizes, shapes and styles and most approaches work to a certain degree. Plus the leader for a certain situation or crisis may not be the right fit for a different challenge. Winston Churchill, who famously guided Britain thru the darkest days of WWII was voted out of office at the end. Key Leadership Skills that anyone can learn:
- Self-Confidence (For who shall answer an Uncertain Trumpet? 1 Corinthians 14:8),
- EQ and Empathy (Folks don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care),
- Ability to Listen and Learn (must have BOTH Competence AND Character)
- Vision/Flexibility/Adaptability (see world from BOTH ground level and 40,000 feet)
As always, I share what I most want and need to learn. – Nathan S. Collier
