Your Personal Narrative is your life story or more precisely, how you choose to interpret your life story: the story you tell yourself about yourself and the things that happen to you. Your Personal Narrative is incredibly powerful for it impacts how you frame events and thus how you respond.

Is the story you tell yourself about yourself one of a strong, resilient survivor who makes the best of everything OR that of a weak and helpless victim of fate, tossed about and buffeted about by storms beyond your ken? The internal conversations you’ve had with yourself in the past, your self-talk, how you’ve interpreted and framed and chosen to remember past trials and triumphs will greatly impact how you approach your present.

Everything can be seen through multiple lenses. The Personal Narrative YOU create becomes a guide, “a powerful belief system that’s baked into our day-to-day existence… a life-script that is often followed without question or protest.” (Kristin Taylor)

It’s your life, do yourself a favor: choose a positive Personal Narrative that serves you, that calls out to your Best Self, that supports your greatness. Get your self-talk on your side; make it your coach, your cheerleader, your best friend.

Closing Quotes:

“Each of us possess a personal narrative that encompasses a belief system that shapes us and what we see as possible in our lives. As a result, we either live up or live down to that personal narrative.” –  Kristin Taylor
