I never get enough sleep.

I stay up late at night, ’cause I’m Night Guy.

Night Guy wants to stay up late.

“What about getting up after five hours of sleep?”

That’s Morning Guy’s problem.

That’s not my problem, I’m Night Guy.

I stay up as late as I want.

So you get up in the morning, you’re exhausted, groggy….

Night Guy always screws Morning Guy.

There’s nothing Morning Guy can do.

The only thing Morning Guy can do is

try and oversleep often enough so that

Day Guy loses his job and

Night Guy has no money to go out anymore.

So… Which are you? How do you see yourself? What is your self-concept? Who wins your inner battles? How strong is your will? How deep is your motivation? Your self-discipline? Which do you choose? Pleasure of the moment or long-term treasure?

Closing Quotes:

“Mental toughness is many things and rather difficult to explain. Its qualities are sacrifice and self-denial. Also, most importantly, it is combined with a perfectly disciplined will that refuses to give in. It’s a state of mind-you could call it character in action.”
– Vince Lombardi, 1913-1970

“Some of the greatest battles will be fought within the silent chambers of your own soul.” Ezra Taft Benson, 15th U.S. Secretary of Agriculture, 1899-1994

As always, I share what I most want and need to learn. – Nathan S. Collier
