1. They Choose Their Mindset
They remain optimistic, solution-oriented, forward thinkers in all circumstances. They know that no matter what, a positive outlook will achieve better outcomes than despair and discouragement.
2. They Know Happiness is an Inside Job
They don’t hand over their happiness, their peace of mind, to the outside world. Their sense of self is anchored deep within and from that flows wonderful peace. To them, happiness is an active choice. They “self sooth”, they have wellsprings of inspiration and wisdom they return to regularly.
3. They Deliberately Build Happiness: Thought by Thought, Moment by Moment
They celebrate the moments, the little things; they look for the good and they find it and cherish it. They have the “Habit of Happiness” and “An Attitude of Gratitude”. They walk on the sunny side of the street; they dance in the rain.
4. They Release All Thoughts That Hurt
They know that negative emotions such as judgment, anger, envy, resentment, anxiety, fear, or jealousy are poisons to the mind and the body. If a tragedy occurs in their life, they will take the appropriate amount of time to process their grief (feelings buried alive never die) but they never wallow in it; never carry the pain of the past into the future: They know the past should be a place of reference, not residence.
