What does “Think the Right Thought” mean? First, acknowledge that you have the ability to choose the thoughts you think. Now it may be a dormant skill, a mental muscle you have never developed, but you can direct your thoughts, you can alter your world view, you can choose what you focus on. What you focus on expands and thoughts held in mind attract in kind: what do you want to attract? What are you attracting?
Second, accept that your thoughts powerfully affect your moods and your actions. As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he, and the minute you realize the power of your thoughts, you will never think a negative thought again. Negativity is the ultimate in self-sabotage, a mega step on the slippery slope of self-fulfilling doom and gloom prophecy. A positive attitude by no means guarantees success but a negative one definitely increases the odds of failure.
Think the right thought means thinking about thinking, choosing to think thoughts that serve you, uplift you, support you. Thoughts of optimism, resilience, and gratitude that promote your well-being and mental health, solution-oriented thoughts: forward, onward and upward.
