A sign that says "be the best version of yourself"

A good sense of self is important to living an emotionally healthy life and it starts with accepting where you are. You may not be where or what you want to be, however reality is reality and must be dealt with as a starting point. I’m a huge advocate of high aspirations but never of ‘magical thinking’. Once you have acknowledged your current state, you can begin constructing the you that you want to be, the future you of your dreams. Sign up for small steps; the power of compounding is incredible (“Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out.”- Robert Collier, 1885-1950, aka my granddad).

Big changes will come your way (“Change happens in an instant. It’s the decision to change that can take forever.” – Tony Robbins, ‘Unlimited Power/Awaken the Giant Within’), however they are often simply a ‘tipping point’, the gradual improvements/upgrades you’ve been working on reach a critical threshold, the accumulation of which triggers a shift to a new, higher state.

Do not obsess or focus on luck, yours or others; good and bad ‘luck’ comes to all of us. Instead focus on preparation, improving, widening, deepening your skillset, life management skills and network. There is much truth in the adage “Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity.”

Believe fully in yourself and your capacity to grow and develop for the world take us at our word, for our own self appraisal, conscious or unconscious. There is some seed of greatness in all of us, seek it, nourish it, become your best self more often.
