Under certain circumstances, being willing to work poorly is NOT an acceptance of low standards, rather it is a willingness to be a beginner, to tolerate the pain of being a novice once again. To someone who has achieved mastery in one or more fields, it can be quite the blow to one’s inner perfectionist to start all over again in a new endeavor.

Yet the willingness to be humble, to endure the stumbles, to soldier through is the only way we can continue to grow and expand ourselves beyond our current limits. Yes, it can be uncomfortable… but it is oh so necessary.
