“To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice your gift” and “The best we can be, we must be” are two quotes that aptly sum up the challenge life lays before us. While one should always be grateful for what one does have, never settle for less than your potential, never take your eye off the mountaintop.
I’m not advocating blindly seeking out difficulty just for difficulty’s sake (life will present plenty) but intelligently selecting and deliberately choosing the more challenging path can lead to growth and opportunity far beyond the norm. A ship may be safest in the harbor but that is not what ships are made for.
