Inner success or outer success? Which matters most to you? Where did your values and beliefs come from? Truly yours, the result of deep self-awareness, journaling, self-inspection and thoughtful introspection? Or just what randomly rubbed off on you as you ricochetted through life? When you measure your worth by the opinions of others, when you measure your success by the values of others, you hand over the keys to your happiness and give away your power.
Pay close attention to what lies behind your motivations, to what you seek. You can’t get enough of what you don’t need, and you can never fill a spiritual deficit with material possessions.
To be clear, an outer scorecard can be a fine thing… in moderation and as long as it is kept in balance with and never, ever dominates the inner.
