Far more than we realize, we create the world we experience. The places we go, the people we choose to spend time with, the topics we choose to speak about, the words and tone we use, the books we read, the shows we watch, the social media we devour; all these constitute reinforcing programing for our world view, often creating a self-fulling prophecy of expectations, powerfully impacting outcomes.

There is much, all too much, going on in our world today that can easily be a source of stress, and headlines and social media newsfeed bombard us with teasers designed to make the protective reptilian portion of our brain respond reflexively. However, there is also much that is right with the world and many folks doing their best to make it a better place if we choose to go proactively seeking that input instead.

Doom and gloom is not a good diet for either the soul or the body. Instead, resolve to make it your life’s mission to cultivate the good, to practice cheerfulness, to be a joyful breeze, to make sure your attitude is worth catching, to lift others up, to always be a lighthouse for others… and as you help others, you will lighten your own load and better your own life.
