“It is demoralizing to have your leadership challenged
just because you’re a woman
or because you’re a woman of color, but
I just erase memories of that kind of behavior.”

– Energy flows where attention goes…

We are all engaged, moment by moment, in ‘energy management’ i.e. Selecting where to place our attention and thus our energies. Anyone who wants to make the best of themselves, who wishes to go far in life will not waste time or energy on negative, victim oriented thinking. There may be some truth to it but every moment spent dwelling on it is energy wasted, energy not spent moving forward.
Buddhists teach us to ‘beware the second arrow’: the first arrow is a painful event in life; the potential second arrow is what we can do to ourselves if we respond in a dysfunctional manner.
Closing Quotes:
“Quarrel not at all. No man resolved to make the most of himself, can spare time for personal contention. Better give your path to a dog, than be bitten by him in contesting for the right. Even killing the dog would not cure the bite.” – Abraham Lincoln (1809–1865) , 16th President of United States of America
“We are punished not for our anger but by our anger.”– Zen Saying
“Sometimes, I feel discriminated against, but it does not make me angry. It merely astonishes me. How can any deny themselves the pleasure of my company?” – Zora Neale Hurston (1881-1960); folklorist, anthropologist, author during Harlem Renaissance
