How great is your range? Are you a generalist or a specialist? If you are a specialist (and the world needs both specialists and generalists), do you have the capability to step out of yourself, go to the balcony, broaden your perspective, and keep your specialty in a proper context?
For me, having range is the ability to move from Ground Level to 50,000 ft (vital in my role as a leader), to see both the forest AND the trees, to learn and retain the skill of being Present in the all so Precious Moment while still keeping my Eye on the Mountain Top.
