Even when you are on the right track you’ll get run over if you just sit there. Doing nothing (aka Decision by Indecision) is still a decision even if a default one. While there is certainly something to be said for proper preparation and there are a few things that will resolve themselves or need to come to full fruition before action is taken, the vast majority of life’s situations require that we make a sincere effort to create the reality we wish to see, to set our sails to catch the prevailing wind so as to take us to our desired destination.

Synonyms for standing still include moribund, declining, waning, stagnant, stagnating, crumbling, decaying, dying, obsolescent, and weak. Yuck! Excessive standing still can quickly become a “couch potato” lifestyle. So why do folk not move forward, why do they hug their comfort zone? A big reason is FEAR!

Best way I know to overcome fear is to visualize what might be, to write the movie script in your mind of the life you COULD create and then to run that film over and over and over, dream over it, obsessive over it, see it as real, as possible, believe in it and your ability to make it come true! Then start to take action! Even if every scene doesn’t come to be perfectly, your life will still be infinitely better.

“Either you’re growing or you’re decaying; there’s no middle ground. If you’re standing still, you’re decaying. By improving yourself, the world is made better. Be not afraid of growing too slowly. Be afraid only of standing still.” – Benjamin Franklin

As always, I share what I most want and need to learn. – Nathan S. Collier
