The human mind is an incredible thing! It is estimated that we humans have between 50,000-80,000 thoughts a day. Unfortunately, all too many are automatic, repetitive, and negative and do not serve us, do not move us forward. Rather they each can become tiny little micro-energy sucks that add up over the days and rob us of our best selves.
A vital step to a better life is to get your mind, your internal chatter, 100% on YOUR side by eliminating doubts, limiting beliefs, and baseless, exaggerated fears. The pathway to positivity has 4 steps: Recognize, Refuse and Reframe, Relax and Release, then Resume.
- The first step to any change is awareness i.e. Recognize and identify the negative thought, the limiting belief.
- The next is to Refuse it, dispute it and then Reframe it: think of alternatives, different, more empowering points of view. If you have to doubt something, why not doubt your doubts?
- Relax and Release! I visualize that I’m rock climbing and suddenly realize that my backpack is filled with useless rocks, deadweight holding me back. I release and instantly feel lighter, energized.
- Resume! Carry On! Intelligent persistence; resilience in the face of challenge is an incredibly valuable skill set to cultivate.
A negative mindset cannot produce a positive mindset! As you banish negativity, you will attract positive people and positive outcomes. Regardless of circumstances, a solution-oriented mindset will produce better results than doom and gloom. It is possible to train your mind to find good in everything. Positivity is a choice (as is negativity!). The quality of your life depends on the quality of your thoughts.
