1. Put Your Sense of Self-Worth into the hands of others. Never, ever let others define you or set your goals or priorities. “My Sense of Self is Anchored Deep Within, from that Flows Wonderful Peace.”  NSC

2. Hold Grudges, Cling to Bitterness or Resentment. Anger is an acid that corrodes the vessel that holds it. “Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned.”  Buddha “Anger makes you smaller, while forgiveness forces you to grow beyond what you are.” – Cherie Carter-Scott

3. Live in Denial. Reality is reality and no matter how long we may try to kid ourselves, sooner or later the truth comes a-knocking and won’t go away. “To treat your facts with imagination is one thing, but to imagine your facts is another.” – John Burroughs

4. Allow Negativity in Your Life. It has been said you are the sum total of the 5 people with which you spend the most time. Do they energize you? Lift you? Support and challenge you? “If you realized how powerful your thoughts are, you would never think a negative thought.” – Peace Pilgrim

5. Link Your Happiness to Others or External Events. “The fountain of content must spring up in the mind, and he who hath so little knowledge of human nature as to seek happiness by changing anything but his own disposition, will waste his life in fruitless efforts and multiply the grief he proposes to remove.”  Samuel Johnson

As always, I share what I most want and need to learn. – Nathan S. Collier
