I’m a BIG proponent of Positivity: “Think you can, think you can’t, you are right.” Thoughts held in mind attract in kind; what you focus on expands etc. It works, it truly does. Positivity is not a magic wand, positivity will not effortlessly transport you to Nirvana, BUT it will turbo charge whatever talents, efforts and abilities you do have.

One powerful aspect of positivity is Positive Visualization i.e. seeing the future you desire as already real, as achieved, and allowing that to pull you forward and to make success an integral part of your comfort zone. So far, so good. BUT occasionally, in some folks, seeing their goals as already achieved somehow lessons the drive to achieve (“Rethinking Positive Thinking: Inside the New Science of Motivation” by Gabriele Oettingen).

If that phenomenon occurs, the solution is simple: alternate visualizations of you on the mountain top with visuals of you successfully climbing the mountain, cheerfully acquiring the necessary abilities, joyfully applying the skills, and happily hiking the trail to the top.
