Ordinary thinking is what passes most of the time for thinking i.e. “the action of using one’s mind to produce thoughts”. Ordinary thinking requires little to no effort, most of the time it is reflexive, simply recalling past impressions or experiences and applying them to current stimuli. Ordinary thinking accepts things as they are presented, does not delve deeper or challenge assumptions. Ordinary thinkers do not question or seek evidence to test beliefs or invest energy in becoming aware of alternatives.
Ordinary thinkers live ordinary lives. Creative thinkers, high-energy seekers, those with ever flowing wellsprings of curiosity within, those with critical thinking skills – they all drink deep droughts from the sea of life. Their lives may not be as easy or as smooth as ordinary thinkers but they live lives that are certainly fuller and more interesting.
How will you choose to live your one precious life?
