The phrase “This is What I Do” is a calming mantra I use during times of excess inputs (aka stress) to center and focus myself, collect my thoughts and summon my best efforts, call forth my best self. “This is what I do and I do it well” carries multiple layers of meaning: This is my craft, this is my skill set, this is what I’ve studied most of my life to master… and I’m good at it, as good as any and better than most.

I may not achieve a perfect outcome, but I will do well… this is my chosen discipline, and my choices and behavior reflect my character, integrity and principles. I am committed, dedicated and resilient. I will fight the good fight, and I will give my all; upon this you can depend.
