Within each and every one of us slumbers greatness of some sort or another. We might not win a Nobel Prize or an Olympic gold medal, but we can all be a light unto others, ease a path, offer a smile, a sincere compliment, a vital bit of praise and appreciation.
We all daily teach others our value system by our words and deeds and it behooves us at the end of each day to consider what lesson we taught that day. Attitudes are contagious and we leave an emotional wake behind us everywhere we go. Are you, could you be, a refreshing breeze when you enter a room? A force for good? Is there joy in your heart you might share? A spring in your footstep?
One of my favorite mantra’s is ‘My Resting Face is a Smiling Face’ and I repeat it to myself often during the day to make sure I stay true to it. The wonderful thing is that I get so many smiles back; even walking the streets of Manhattan, strangers passing by give me a friendly smile back and my day feels all the richer.
