Two monks out walking came to a river with a strong current.
As they started to cross,
a beautiful girl called out to them,
asking for help to cross the river.
Even though the monks had taken vows of chastity to never to touch a woman,
the older monk picked up the girl and carried her across.
After an hour or two, the younger monk could not contain himself:
“We vowed not to touch a woman, how could you carry that girl?”
The older monk replied:
“Brother, I set her down on the riverbank long ago;
why are you still carrying her?”
