There is a concept called aging set point, which is that our attitudes toward aging can materially affect the way we age. That there exists a biological time clock in our minds that is not entirely controlled by our genes but can also be impacted by our minds. Thinking that we should be slowing down, we choose to slow down and a self-fulfilling prophecy quickly kicks in. Decades ago even doctors thought that gaining a pound or two a year was just part of the normal aging process. Now we know weight gain is primarily a choice that we make through diet, exercise, and portion control.
What are your expectations for your crowning years?
Do you have a plan to make them as vibrant and active—mentally, spiritually, and physically as possible?
How do you intend to continually re-invest in yourself?
