Want to be miserable? Complain! Constantly! Construct a never-ending litany of things you deplore and fixate on them. Focus on all that is wrong with the world! Curse the fact that rose bushes have thorns! Chase down all the negative thoughts you can and immerse yourself in them. Invite them in as permanent residents of your mind; see yourself as a powerless victim, dwell on how unfair life is; and why, oh why, does it have to be so?
The Antidote? Develop an Attitude of Gratitude! A Solution Mindset! Become a Possibility Thinker! It’s not a magic wand for reality (though it is for your mood!) but a positive attitude is always more effective than a negative one.
