The ancient Celtics believed in ‘thin places’, special spiritual locations where earth and heaven grew close, where it was possible or at least easier to commune with the divine, where peace and contentment could be found. Of that I will not opine except to say that I find peace in nature’s embrace, specifically strolling in the woods, surrounded by towering trees reaching up to the heavens. I find it especially so in early mornings, before the rush of the day, my mind and spirit more receptive, softer, open to contemplation and reflection. Crisp morns are especially nice though on occasion the cool of the evening has beckoned my soul into that delightful space.

It is there and then I find rest and renewal, my soul restored.
